AMB means Amazing Movie Beauty for the audience from now on. AMB obviously refers to Telugu Superstar and high-ranking Mahesh Babu’s house of ventures, but by retaining the old name Kapali, it comes very close to the hearts of Bengalureans.

A highly attractive and well-equipped cinema multiplex, “AMB Cinemas” (Kapali Mall), now stands in the heart of Bengaluru. AMB is nothing but Asian Mahesh Babu!

When one thinks of Majestic and Gandhinagar in Bengaluru, what immediately comes to mind are the bustling crowds and the old cinema halls. In the Majestic area—the very heart of Bengaluru—there was a time when cinema theatres dominated the landscape. Among them, and especially renowned as one of the largest theatres in Asia, was the Kapali cinema hall (the first Cinerama in Asia with three projectors started in 1968). For nearly 50 years, this theatre entertained cinema lovers, and its name did not remain just a name—it grew into an emotion.

When the Kapali theatre was demolished a few years ago, it caused immense pain to movie lovers. What would come up at this place next? This curiosity lingered in everyone’s minds. Now, on the same site, a grand multiplex has been launched. Owned by Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu, “AMB Cinemas” has been constructed here as a large multiplex. Under the name “AMB Cinemas Kapali,” this multiplex has begun operations.

Late Narayan Das Narang, founder Asia Cinemas a visionary transformed movie going into an experience built on large scale AMB cinemas stands today as a reflection of the vision he set in motion.  Bharat Narang continues the legacy today.

This is South India’s first cinema theatre with Dolby Vision, and it has nine screens. The screens offer excellent video quality, providing audiences with a superior movie-viewing experience. For the best color reproduction and visual clarity across all screens, Barco laser projection technology has been used at AMB Cinemas.

Screen 6 is particularly special, as it is South India’s first Dolby Cinema screen. It is equipped with a Christie 6K Dolby Vision projector and an immersive sound system. To provide audiences with a luxurious experience, a special lounge and seating arrangement called the “M-Lounge” has been introduced. For food and beverages, there is a specially curated selection of delicious items for moviegoers.

As for ticket pricing, it is not overly expensive and is kept at rates convenient for everyone. As per government regulations, the first show begins at 6:00 a.m., and the last show is at 10:30 p.m. Between these timings, five to six shows are planned for each screen.

A live kitchen has been opened with the aim of providing audiences with food of the highest quality. In the coming days, there are plans to open AMB Cinemas in other parts of Karnataka as well.

AMB Cinemas’ Managing Director, Bharat Narang, stated that there has been an agreement between AMB Cinemas and Qube for a long time. Dolby Laboratories’ Sameer Seth, architect Eeranna Yekebote, CV Rao of Annapurna Studios, Dhanvi Narang, Jyesh Narang, among others, were present at the media address on Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. Bharat Narang expressed his hope of serving spicy Donne Biryani from his precious kitchen setup. He recalled the olden days of the unforgettable Kapali Theatre and how it changed hands.

Architect Eeranna Yekebote, who hails from Gulbarga, Karnataka, explained in detail how international standards have been maintained. There are 70+ concealed speakers, not visible but performing magical wonders. Screen 6, which has a seating capacity of 588, is of the highest quality, and after Pune, AMB Kapali Mall has such advanced features to treat the audience.
