The film “Agrasena” becomes quite intriguing in the second half when the body goes missing. Until then, it primarily revolves around a regular love story and the bond between a father and son. Director Murugesh Kannappa manages three plots skillfully – the father-son relationship, the love track, and the revenge track.

Within the span of 120 minutes, director Murugesh successfully weaves the narrative together with the enchanting tunes from Thyagaraj and absorbing cinematography by Ram Reddy. Producers Mamata and Jayaram Reddy have provided adequate support to this talented team of new artists and technicians.

The village of Ramadevapura is under the rule of the benevolent Adishesha, who prohibits the youth of the village from seeking livelihood outside its boundaries. There’s a strong reason behind his decision – he intends to provide the best treatment for his ailing father, Soorappa (Ramakrishna), who is suffering from cancer. To fulfill this task, he appoints a young man named Amar. However, Amar, being a freeloader, takes advantage of the opportunity and embezzles a large sum of money from Adishesha. Instead of using the money for his father’s treatment, Amar spends it on his girlfriend, Rishika.

Unexpected events unfold in the post-interval part of the film. The hospital authorities mistakenly declare Soorappa dead and send a different person’s body to Ramadevapura. Filled with bafflement and anger, Adishesha takes drastic measures to locate his father. The climax brings another tale of revenge, which audiences must watch on the silver screen.

The standout performance in the film comes from Hrithwik Krishna Raja as Adishesha, who delivers the right amount of anger and excels in the action and sentimental scenes. Amar Viraj and Rachana Dasharath, as the lead pair, convey the message that only goodness and hard work lead to success in life.

The film marks the 200th appearance of veteran actor Ramakrishna, who does complete justice to his role.

Thyagaraj, as the music director, has contributed three delightful tunes, while the editing and dialogue portions of the film provide excellent support.

“Agrasena” is a film with a meaningful message aimed at family audiences.
