“Yadha Yadha Hi” is a competent thriller, presented in an extended style, echoing the essence of Lord Krishna’s teachings in the Bhagavad Gita: “Yadha Yadha Hi Dharmasya Glanirbhavthi Bharatha, Abyuddanadharmaya Tadaatmanam Srujamahyam!”
The storyline revolves around the concept that when Adharma prevails over Dharma, a ring master must emerge to restore balance. In this Kaliyug, as depicted in “Yadha Yadha Hi,” a thorn must be removed with another thorn. The film bears similarities to “The Invisible” and the Telugu movie “Evaru,” making it a compelling watch for discerning film enthusiasts.
The remake excels with stellar performances from Diganth, Haripriya, and Vasishta Simha, along with impressive cinematography and two captivating songs.
However, the film could have benefited from twenty minutes of trimming, as certain repetitions and attempts to keep the audience guessing consume unnecessary time. Nevertheless, producer Rajesh Agarwal and director Ashok Teja deserve praise for their efforts.
Priyanka, alias Kushi, portrays a character filled with dangerous emotions. She marries the wealthy Rahul with an ulterior motive and engages in an affair with ACP Aditya Verma, an extremely possessive individual.
Ashok Teja, known as Adarsh, becomes the mastermind behind unraveling Priyanka’s shady deals, leading to a gripping revenge saga. The crime committed by Priyanka unveils links to various characters, and the post-interval transformation of the overly possessive Aditya Verma keeps audiences engaged.
Diganth, Haripriya Simha, and Vasishta Simha, all prominent actors in Kannada cinema, deliver outstanding performances in roles unlike their usual ones, showcasing excellent emotional depth and understanding of their characters. Avinash also garners attention in his small role, while the Manju Pawagada comedy track could have used some additional punch.
The romantic song “Thanu Thanu” comes at the right point in the careers of the star couple Haripriya Simha and Vasishta Simha, and they effortlessly embody the emotions of the song.
For crime and thriller enthusiasts, “Yadha Yadha Hi” is an ideal choice.
