Actor Chandan Kumar, known for his performances in Kannada cinema, has turned director with his debut film Flirt. Along with directing, he also plays the lead role in the movie, which is produced under the Everest Pictures banner. The film carries the tagline “A Pure Love Story” and stars Nimika Ratnakar and Akshata Bopanna as the female leads.
To kickstart promotions, the team recently released a friendship-themed song titled Nee Nanna Jeeva, for which Kichcha Sudeepa, a close friend of Chandan Kumar, lent his voice. The film is scheduled for release on November 4, and its trailer was unveiled at the Mall of Asia during a special event attended by Sudeepa as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, director Chandan Kumar expressed his gratitude to Sudeepa. “From the very beginning, Sudeepa sir has been a huge support to me. On October 25, it will be ten years since I first met him during Bigg Boss. From CCL to Prema Baraha, and even launching our restaurant, he has always been there for me. Though Flirt is a romantic comedy, it includes friendship, love, and other entertaining elements. The term ‘flirt’ doesn’t just mean teasing—it also represents deep affection. Every person’s life has its own form of love, and each character in the film carries value. Alongside romance and comedy, the film also features a psycho character. My mother has also given me financial support for this project. Thanks to everyone’s cooperation, the film is ready for release on November 4. I seek everyone’s support,” he said.

Kichcha Sudeepa, after launching the trailer, said, “When I made my first attempt at direction, I too was nervous. Chandan is one of our own, and I’m always happy to see him grow. I’ve already watched the film—it has come out really well, and the depth in the story is impressive,” he remarked.
Veteran actor Avinash, who plays a judge, along with actresses Nimika Ratnakar, Girish Shivanna, and Vinay Gowda, spoke about their respective roles. Director A.P. Arjun and actor Sunil Rao, who were guests at the event, also extended their best wishes to Chandan for his new venture.
The song sung by Sudeepa features music by Nakul Abhyankar, while composer Jassie Gift has provided music for the remaining three songs and the background score. Cinematography is by H.C. Venu, and senior actors Shruti and Sadhu Kokila appear in important roles.
