With an appealing title, ‘4 N 6’, the new Kannada cinema is forging ahead with an intriguing first glimpse, courtesy of Purple Patch Pictures. Saipriti N is the producer of this murder mystery. The director has ingeniously infused a numerical significance into the word ‘Forensic’, hence the pronunciation ‘4N6’ unmistakably refers to ‘Forensic’.
Rachana Inder, renowned for her roles in Love Mocktail and Love 360, along with Bhavani Prakash, Naveen Kumar, and Adyasekhar, takes the lead in this film. Darshan Srinivas has penned the story, screenplay, and action cuts for “4N6”.
The storyline revolves around the investigation of a murder, with Rachana Inder portraying the role of a forensic detective for the first time.
Director Darshan, who has previously directed two short films, expressed, “This is my directorial debut where a forensic report plays a crucial role in solving a murder case. The narrative focuses on four main characters. I sought the advice of forensic experts during the story development process.” He further mentioned that the filming took place over 30 days in Bangalore and has already secured a U/A certificate from the censors.
Producer Saipreeti emphasized the talent within the team, asserting the film’s quality. Executive producer Karan Singh shared, “Darshan approached me during the making of a short film. He had numerous story ideas. Post-COVID, there has been a shift in how people consume movies. Crime stories have gained popularity, prompting us to explore this concept.”
Rachana Inder commented on her role, stating, “It’s a new experience for me to portray such a character. My role doesn’t involve much dialogue.” Bhavani Prakash mentioned, “I was given a role that I believe suited someone else better.” She highlighted that the film transcends a mere murder investigation, delving into psychological depths, and expressed her positive shooting experience.
Lead Actor Naveen Kumar, reflecting on his involvement, said, “I’m relatively new to the film industry, and I’ve learned a great deal from this movie.” He praised the promising nature of all the characters.
