On Friday, February 28, 1990s will be released across Karnataka, promising a wonderful treat and a nostalgic experience for audiences.
A period film releasing in five languages, 1990s brings nostalgic moments, especially in its portrayal of love.
The Arun-Rani Varad starrer 1990s, directed by Nandakumar CM and produced under the banner of Manasu Mallige Combines, has already received wishes from many dignitaries.
Director Nandakumar, who has been in the film industry for over twenty years, stated, “This is my debut film as a director. The main reason for this film is the support from cinematographer Halesh, music director Maharaj, composer Krishna, choreographer Sadiq Sardar, and the film’s hero, Arun. All of them joined hands with me, which led me to direct this film. I am grateful to all of them and to the production company, Manasu Mallige Combines.”
Now, 1990s is a love story set in the nineties. Arun and Rani Varad play the lead roles, with many artists in the supporting cast. “In this film, the situation itself acts as the villain, making it all the more intriguing,” says the director.
“With ten years of experience as a theater artist, this is my first film on the big screen. Nandakumar has crafted a strong story, and everyone involved believes in its impact,” said actor Arun. “I am playing the role of an innocent lover in this film, and I am also the son of senior editor Janardhan.”
One of the most beautiful songs in the film, sung by the legendary K.S. Chitra, has already become a major highlight.
